These meetings have been gathering people of faith for 22 months. The experience grew out of a desire for a spiritually grounded response to the threat posed by the Trans Mountain pipeline & tanker expansion project.
This is an open, inclusive and public “Quaker-inspired” worship meeting, grounded in silence, during which anyone may feel led to speak or sing.
In the stillness of this meeting we may become aware of a deep and powerful spirit of love and truth that transcends ordinary experience. It can be a time of insight, revelation, healing, and calm. We seek in the silence to open ourselves by returning again and again to the still centre of our being. We do this not in isolation, but while holding an awareness of all those gathered with us, uniting in common purpose, so that the waiting and the listening becomes an act of sharing.
Please dress for the weather, and bring a folding chair and a snack to share. We usually meet outside but the Watch House is also available.
After today’s meeting, we will gather for the Stations of the Cross, a traditional Anglican observance re-imagined in ecological terms.
