Salal + Cedar and Fossil Free Faith are hosting a NonViolent Direct Action Training for people of faith and spiritual practice.

Located at Canadian Memorial, training will be provided by Greenpeace and 350.org. This spring, the global climate movement will be rallying at critical climate justice sites, in massive peaceful resistance designed to slow extraction of fossil fuels. In Western Canada, it’s the Kinder Morgan Pipeline.Join with people of faith, and others who see action for justice as a spiritual pursuit, to learn skills for effective, creative, non- violent action. Prepare to be part of a global wave of climate actions during the month of May.

We am for all our events to be accessible for all ages, all bodies all genders. There will be on-site child-minding, please let us know if you are bringing children. Level access door to the Church on the west side (opposite side from Burrard street). You can get there from the lane or up the sidewalk from 15th Avenue. Handicapped parking spots are posted in the lot next to the Centre for Peace, and the Centre for Peace is fully accessible with an elevator and wheelchair friendly washrooms on each floor.

Salal & Cedar is an alternative Christian community building capacity for environmental justice, we worship outdoors. Fossil Free Faith is a multi-faith consortium made up of passionate volunteers from around Canada supporting and engaging one another and our faith institutions about climate justice, fossil fuel divestment / reinvestment, and the role of bold faith in strengthening our shared future.
