Members and friends of the Salal and Cedar community met on the peak of Burnaby Mountain on Saturday January 7th for our first community worship in knee-deep snow. Burnaby Mountain has become an important gathering place in resistance against the proposed (and now approved by our provincial and federal governments) Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion. Beautiful clear skies, icy winds and an abundance of untouched snowdrift were the backdrop for our scriptures and prayers before we shared in the Eucharist. The photo of our altar is by Sandra Vander Schaaf.
