Support Salal + Cedar

Salal + Cedar needs your help. We are a ministry of the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster, Coast Salish Territory: an itinerant church with a vocation for environmental justice. We worship outdoors and gather for social action, conservation and education. We operate year round with one part-time staff person, take action for environmental justice, run an amazing summer camp for young people, and we help to keep love of God’s creation at the heart of worship in local churches. All this on an annual budget of less than $60,000. Two and a half years into our ministry we are looking to people who sincerely believe in the work that we do and the witness that we offer, to help us move from short-term “new initiatives” funding to financial sustainability. Committed monthly giving at the level that works for your household is what will help us the most.

Please give what you can and deepest thanks to those who already support us with their prayers, time, and financial gifts.

sponsor a workshop

This is a critical time. With the rise in emboldened public acts of racism and islamophobia since the US election, the escalation at Standing Rock and the approval of the Kinder Morgan expansion pipeline people are looking to Salal + Cedar for skills-building workshops and organizing. To rent space, have supplies and justly compensate facilitators and child-care providers costs money. Please sponsor: an interrupting oppressions workshop $250, a half day non-violent direct action training for people of faith $580, a full day direct action training $850. We also need a good quality pop-up tent shelter $1200.
